SAND DUNE FORMATION

Example Type:
Natural Occurrence

Information:
Location: Sandy Desert Regions
Record Date: 10.01
Season: Fall
Elevation: 600 Feet
Photo 1: Deposition

Notes:
This is not an example of a large dune, but it does show how the wind can move sand in a desert region. You can tell that the wind moves from left to right. The small bushes slow the wind down and the sand is able to collect in that area. Over time, the sand pile will grow to be the height of the bush.
